This year, the Greater Hartford Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is celebrating our 100th Year Anniversary. From 1917 with William Service Bell, the first president of the Branch, to 2017 with President Imam Abdul-Shahid Muhammad Ansari, the current president of the Branch; the Greater Hartford Branch of the NAACP has been deeply rooted and entrenched in the Greater Hartford Community.
